Meaning representation

The reading seminar seeks to introduce three problems in meaning representation in an interdisciplinary fashion: lexical relations, argument structure and the related problems of language-independent representation and the ambiguity of words. Much weight is given to the computer implementations and psychological reality. If students are interested, we also learn how these problems arise and are dealt with in 4lang, the language understanding system of the Mathematical Linguistics research group of the Linguistics Institute that the lecturer is also part of, writing his thesis on the subject.
